Large Shaft Wear-Resistant Remanufacturing
Challenge
Large shafts may develop localized wear, scoring or dimensional loss. Repair requires stable deposition around a rotating component while controlling heat accumulation and final geometry.
Material & Process
The repair zone is prepared and a compatible alloy is selected according to the shaft material, operating load and finishing requirements. Deposition strategy is developed around the required build height.
LZ Optical Configuration
An external-surface cladding head is integrated with powder feeding, cooling, shielding gas and coordinated rotary or linear motion. Beam size is selected for the repair width and deposition rate.
Result
The worn region is rebuilt with a controlled deposited layer that can be machined to the required dimension. Process validation determines the final layer system and acceptance criteria.
