Mining Component Surface Reinforcement

Challenge

Mining components operate under abrasive wear, impact and heavy loading. Critical surfaces may require reinforcement or dimensional restoration without replacing the complete component.

Material & Process

The substrate, wear mechanism and target hardness or toughness are evaluated to select a suitable alloy and deposition strategy. Layer thickness and overlap are developed through sample testing.

LZ Optical Configuration

A robust external cladding configuration combines beam shaping, controlled powder delivery, cooling, shielding gas and motion suited to the component size and repair area.

Result

The target surface receives a controlled wear-resistant layer for finishing and service evaluation. Actual performance is verified against the customer’s material and operating requirements.
